Our Story

Transforming Textile Waste into Opportunity

The Good Felt is a venture dedicated to solving one of the biggest waste challenges—post-consumer polyester-rich waste generated due to fast fashion, polyester clothing and textiles. We transform this often-rejected fabric into high-quality non-woven felt sheets, creating a practical and scalable solution for textile waste management.
Our mission goes beyond recycling. We aim to drive a circular and fair value chain, ensuring both environmental sustainability and social impact.

The Problem

Every year, more than 3 million tons of household textile waste end up in landfills. In India, post-consumer waste accounts for 51% of the total textile waste stream. This waste—primarily polyester blends and printed fabrics—has little to no value in the recycling market and is often discarded.

While some textiles find new life through donations, resale, or upcycling, the reality is that only 1% of textile waste is actually recycled. The rest remains undocumented or dumped, contributing to growing environmental concerns.

Where Does Textile Waste Go?

Our Solution: Circularity in Action

At The Good Felt, we tackle this challenge head-on by giving new purpose to post-consumer textile waste that is otherwise deemed unusable.

Turning Waste into High-Quality Felt

We repurpose polyester-rich textiles into durable, versatile non-woven felt for upholstery, insulation, packaging, and more.

Reducing Landfill Burden

By diverting waste from dumpsites, we help cut down emissions, reduce virgin material use, and extend the life of textiles.

Creating Green

Jobs

We collaborate with waste workers, sorters, and dry waste collection centers, building new income streams for those in the informal waste economy.

Our Impact: Measurable Change

 Environmental Impact

Less landfill waste means lower emissions, reduced water usage, and fewer virgin materials in production.

Social Impact

We are building a fair-pay system that ensures waste workers, sorters, and tailors receive a dignified income for their contributions to the circular economy.
